General Contracting Companies Shared Some Facts About Swimming Pools

Today, there are different types of pools property owners can choose from if they want to build a pool in their property. Experts say that the main different between these pool types is how the basin is constructed.

Above-ground – These are considered the cheapest construction option and the easiest to build. Most are made from prefabricated kits, that even amateurs can install it. However, these pools are less durable as compared to other designs. Also, it is less attractive.

Fiberglass – These are made from fiberglass-reinforced plastic that has been molded into a basin shape. A construction crew must dig an appropriately sized hole to install it. Oftentimes, it is surrounded by a concrete deck structure.

Vinyl-lined in-ground – These look more like conventional in-ground pools. These are much cheaper than other designs but are not very durable. The liner must be replaced every 10 years.

Gunite – These are among the most popular designs. They often have tile, fiberglass, or exposed aggregate finishes. They are very durable and can be built in any size or shape.

Poured-concrete – These are somewhat similar to gunite pools but are harder to build. Rather than spraying concrete material around a rebar framework, concrete is often poured into conventional wooden forms. But with the rise of gunite methods, these have fallen by the wayside.

Bear in mind that although these pool designs are different, they rely on similar basic plumbing and filtering systems.
